Who we are
United States of Europe (unitedstatesofeurope.com) is an independent civic platform. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean the operator of this platform. For data enquiries, contact hello@unitedstatesofeurope.com.
What we collect
- Email address — collected when you create an account. Used for authentication, password reset, and transactional notifications (new message alerts, if enabled).
- Display name — optional, set in your profile. Shown to other users in conversation threads.
- Notice content — the title, body, location, category, and any other fields you fill in when posting a notice. Approved notices are public.
- Message content — the text of private conversations between users about a notice. Visible only to the two participants and to platform moderators for safety review.
- Usage data — standard server logs and aggregated visitor analytics (page views, referrer, country). No individual tracking cookies are set by us.
How we use it
- To operate the platform and display content on the map.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send you transactional emails (new message notifications, password reset). You can disable message notifications in your account settings.
- To moderate notices and messages for compliance with our Terms of Use.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the platform.
